War Child

War Child is an international organization that focuses on preventing the death of children due to armed conflict and aiding them so that they are not forced to desert their homes. They strive to improve access to education and justice, as well as decrease poverty by developing employment opportunities.


The fundamental areas are addressed by:

• Education - provides children with opportunities for learning in a protected area that is free from exploitation and abuse, re-builds schools, runs "catch-up" educational programs and provides training in basic life skills
• Access to justice - provide legal representation to women and children who need protection, comprehensive community sensitization and training of legal and justice officials
• Reducing poverty and fostering self-reliance - provide vocational training so young people can acquire skills to secure employment and income for themselves and their family; operate microfinance programs to assist in setting up small businesses
